
The journal "Special Pedagogy and Psychology" was created in order to consecrate new areas of research in the field of special (correctional) pedagogy and special psychology, the results of review and empirical research in the field of pedagogical, psychological and socio-psychological work with children and adolescents with disabilities and disabled people
The journal covers new methods and technologies for the prevention of personal, behavioral and cognitive deviations in development, the organization of psychological and pedagogical support for habilitating and rehabilitating children with disabilities. Innovative methodological developments are published that make it possible to improve the practice of specialists (teachers, educators, defectologists, speech therapists, psychologists, specialists in adaptive physical culture, etc.) working with children with disabilities and disabled people. Articles are also published on working with families of children with disabilities and on creating a favorable, developing environment around children with disabilities. The important area of content is the work of public volunteer organizations that help children with health limitations and disabilities and their families socially adapt and socialize in society.
Thus, the purpose of the journal is to identify, generalize and disseminate best practices in theoretical research and practical (methodological) developments in the field of education, upbringing, correction, prevention of developmental disorders in children with health limitations and disabilities, experience in organizing psychological and pedagogical support for the processes of habilitation and rehabilitation of children with health limitations and disabilities, as well as experience in organizing psychological and pedagogical assistance to their families.
The editorial board of the journal includes more than thirty scientists from research organizations and universities in Russia and neighboring countries, conducting research and training undergraduate and graduate students in the field of Special (defectological) education. Geographical representation in the editorial board represents 15 regions of the Russian Federation (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Abakan, Grozny, Voronezh, Kursk, Lugansk, Irkutsk, Saratov, Makhachkala, Volgograd, Krasnodar, Pskov, Yalta, Yaroslavl) and neighboring countries (Armenia, Belarus, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan). All members of the editorial board have been working for many years in the field of special (defectological) education, have publications (articles, monographs, textbooks and study guides) in the field of special pedagogy and special psychology and defectology.
